sriracha honey chicken wings

This recipe was one I’ve been wanting to try for a while, from I am a Food Blog – check out her blog it is absolutely gorgeous and has such simple and delicious recipes!

sriracha honey chicken wings

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup sriracha, reduce to 2 tablespoons if needed
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • oil for the pan

In a bowl mix together the first 7 ingredients and then at the chicken wings, cover and keep in the fridge for 1 hour.

Heat a bit of oil in a pan (preferably high heat oil, we used grapeseed oil) and heat over medium to medium-high heat.  Place the marinated wings in and cook covered for 15 minutes.  Turn every so often and adjust heat if cooking too quickly.

Place the leftover marinade into a pot and boil down on high heat till reduced.

With wings ready, pour as much thickened marinade over as you like, perhaps put some on the side as dipping sauce.

Serve hot!

Some changes we will use next time:   We used 1/4 cup of sriracha but seriously if you would like more heat add more – we think it needed it!  Also recommend to lower the soy sauce to 1 tablespoon and a little less honey – which will give you more heat – which we definitely want to try next time to get more of a sriracha taste!
